Salary: $23.75 hourly for 120 hours per month
Employment Type: Term or contract Full time
Location: Edmonton, AB
Shifts: Day, To be determined, 10:30 to 16:30
Work setting: Optional accommodation available at no charge on a live-in basis. Note: This is NOT a condition of employment, and Work in employer’s/client’s home

Requirements:

Languages: Candidates must have knowledge of the English Language
Asset languages: Tagalog
Education: Candidates need standard educational qualifications such as a College/CEGEP or equivalent experience
Experience: Candidates don’t need experience although having experience is an asset
Credentials: CPR Certificate and First Aid Certificate
Security and safety: Basic security clearance and Reference required

Physical Requirements:

• The candidates should be non-smoking
• The candidates should be physically capable of handling demanding tasks, bending, crouching, and kneeling as required
• The candidates should be comfortable with a combination of sitting, standing, and walking, and able to stand for extended periods
• The candidates should be able to thrive in a fast-paced environment and perform repetitive tasks
• The candidates should be comfortable with sitting and capable of walking as needed
• The candidates should be able to handle weights between 45 and 60 kg (100-132 lbs)

Other Requirements:

• The candidates should be punctual, exhibit dependability, and demonstrate reliability
• The candidates should demonstrate client focus, possess efficient interpersonal skills, and have excellent oral communication
• The candidates should show initiative, exercise judgment, and demonstrate flexibility
• The candidates should be organized, be a team player, and exhibit patience
• The candidates should demonstrate honesty and have the ability to multitask

Candidate Status:

• Canadian citizens and permanent or temporary foreign workers of Canada are eligible for this position
• International Candidates who don’t have a valid Canadian work permit also can apply

Responsibilities:

• The candidates should be able to administer bedside and personal care, administer medications, and assist clients with bathing and other aspects of personal hygiene
• The candidates should be able to change non-sterile dressings, feed or assist in feeding, and launder clothing and household linens
• The candidates should be able to perform light housekeeping and cleaning duties, plan therapeutic diets and menus, and provide companionship
• The candidates should be able to provide personal care, prepare and serve nutritious meals, and cook
• The candidates should be able to collaborate with members of an interdisciplinary health team to plan, implement, coordinate, and evaluate patient care in consultation with patients and their families
