Requirements:

Languages: Candidates must have knowledge of the English Language
Education: Candidates should have Master’s Degree in Audiology from a Canadian university, or an equivalent degree from a recognized international program, per ACSLPA criteria
Experience: Candidates should have recent experience conducting diagnostic audiometric assessments and interpretation

Physical Requirements:

  • The candidates should enjoy working independently and as part of a team
  • The candidates should provide security Clearance with Vulnerable Sector and TB screening
  • The candidates should obtain WHMIS 2015 certification within one month
  • The candidates should travel Periodically to Yukon communities

Other Requirements:

  • The candidates should be committed to providing quality hearing healthcare in a public health care setting
  • The candidates should have current ACSLPA registration, or eligibility to register and have recent experience in conducting full pediatric diagnostic audiometric assessments and/or pediatric hearing aid fittings
  • The candidates should possess experience with specialized testing, such as auditory brainstem response testing, tinnitus measurement and management, vestibular assessments, and central auditory screening
  • The candidates should demonstrate excellent communication skills, including proficiency in written and spoken English and develop strong relationships with colleagues, clients, and multidisciplinary teams to influence collaborative goals
  • The candidates should have the ability to build strong rapport with pediatric clients and caregivers and exhibit the ability to research current literature and integrate new evidenced-based principles into audiology practice
  • The candidates should possess excellent critical thinking and decision-making skills, with the ability to solve complex problems
  • The candidates should have a strong understanding of ethics and confidentiality in practice and hold current registration with a Provincial Audiology Canadian regulatory body
  • The candidates should hold a valid Class 5 Driver’s Licence or equivalent

Responsibilities:

  • The candidates should be able to deliver professional audiological services to Yukon residents, reporting to the Manager of Hearing Services
  • The candidates should be able to perform adult and pediatric diagnostic hearing assessments
  • The candidates should be able to select and dispense hearing aids
  • The candidates should be able to provide aural rehabilitation
  • The candidates should be able to conduct public education
  • The candidates should be able to offer in-services to healthcare professionals
