Requirements:
Languages: Candidates must have knowledge of the English Language
Education: Candidates should have completion of Master’s Degree in Audiology from a Canadian university
Experience: Candidates should have experience in conducting full pediatric diagnostic audiometric assessments and pediatric hearing aid fittings
Physical Requirements:
- The candidates should be committed to providing quality hearing healthcare in a public health care setting
- The candidates should enjoy working independently and as part of a team
- The candidates should be ready for a new challenge
- The candidates should be prepared for periodic travel to Yukon communities
Other Requirements:
- The candidates should possess an equivalent degree from a recognized international program, per ACSLPA criteria and ACSLPA registration, or eligibility to register
- The candidates should have recent experience conducting diagnostic audiometric assessments and interpretation
- The candidates should have experience with specialized testing, such as auditory brainstem response testing, tinnitus measurement and management, vestibular assessments, and central auditory screening
- The candidates should demonstrate excellent communication skills, including proficiency in written and spoken English
- The candidates should be able to develop strong relationships with colleagues, clients, and multidisciplinary teams to influence collaborative goals
- The candidates should have the ability to build strong rapport with pediatric clients and caregivers
- The candidates should be capable of researching current literature and integrating new evidenced-based principles into audiology practice
- The candidates should possess excellent critical thinking and decision-making skills, with the ability to solve complex problems
- The candidates should have a strong understanding of ethics and confidentiality in practice
- The candidates should hold a valid Class 5 Driver’s Licence or equivalent
Responsibilities:
- The candidates should be able to deliver professional audiological services to Yukon residents, reporting to the Manager of Hearing Services
- The candidates should be able to responsible for performing adult and pediatric diagnostic hearing assessments
- The candidates should be able to select and dispense hearing aids, conduct aural rehabilitation and provide public education
- The candidates should be able to provide in-services to healthcare professionals
