Requirements:

Languages: Candidates must have knowledge of the English Language
Education: Candidates should have completion of a Master’s Degree in Audiology from a Canadian university
Experience: Candidates should have experience in conducting diagnostic audiometric assessments and interpretation

Physical Requirements:

  • The candidates should have the ability to build strong rapport with pediatric clients and their caregivers
  • The candidates should be willing to undertake periodic travel to Yukon communities

Other Requirements:

  • The candidates should have an equivalent degree from a recognized international program, meeting ACSLPA criteria
  • The candidates should hold current ACSLPA registration or be eligible to register and experience conducting full pediatric diagnostic audiometric assessments and pediatric hearing aid fittings
  • The candidates should have experience with specialized testing such as auditory brainstem response testing, tinnitus measurement and management, vestibular assessments, and central auditory screening
  • The candidates should have excellent communication skills, including proficiency in written and spoken English
  • The candidates should be adept at developing strong relationships with colleagues, clients, and multidisciplinary teams to influence collaborative goals
  • The candidates should be able to research current literature and integrate new evidence-based principles into audiology practice, as appropriate
  • The candidates should possess excellent critical thinking and decision-making skills, with the ability to solve complex problems
  • The candidates should have a strong understanding of ethics and confidentiality in practice
  • The candidates should provide a copy of their Master’s Degree in Audiology or Doctorate of Audiology (AuD) from a recognized university and hold current registration with a Provincial Audiology Canadian regulatory body
  • The candidates should have Security Clearance with Vulnerable Sector, TB screening and possess a valid Class 5 Driver’s License or equivalent and complete WHMIS 2015 training within one month of hire

Responsibilities:

  • The candidates should be able to report to the Manager of Hearing Services and deliver professional audiological services to Yukon residents
  • The candidates should be able to perform adult and pediatric diagnostic hearing assessments and provide in-services to healthcare professionals
  • The candidates should be able to select and dispense hearing aids, provide aural rehabilitation, and engage in public education
  • The candidates should be able to committed to providing quality hearing healthcare in a public health care setting, enjoy working independently and as part of a team, and be ready for a new challenge
