Transportation information: Valid driver’s licence
Work setting: Employer’s home, Staff accommodation provided, and Room and board provided
Requirements:
Languages: Candidates must have knowledge of the English or French Language
Education: Candidates need standard educational qualifications such as a Secondary (high) school graduation certificate or equivalent experience
Experience: Candidates should have experience of 1 to less than 7 months
Credentials: CPR Certificate
Security and safety: Criminal record check, Driver’s validity licence check, and Driving record check (abstract)
Physical Requirements:
- The candidates should be non-smoking
- The candidates should be able to handle physically demanding tasks and handle weight, including weights up to 13.5 kg (30 lbs)
Other Requirements:
- The candidates should have excellent oral communication, be flexible, and have good judgement
- The candidates should be organized, reliable, and patient
- The candidates should be honest
Candidate Status:
- Candidate must be a Canadian Citizen or temporary or permanent resident of Canada
- Candidate must have legal authorization (Work Permit) to work in Canada
- If Candidates are unable to fulfill above mentioned requirements, don’t apply for the position
Responsibilities:
- The candidates should be able to change diapers, follow parents’ lead with toilet training, and assume full responsibility for the household in the absence of parents
- The candidates should be able to perform light housekeeping and cleaning duties, shop for food and household supplies, and travel with the family on trips, assisting with child supervision and housekeeping duties
- The candidates should be able to wash, iron, and press clothing and household linens, care for pets, bathe, dress, and feed infants and children, and discipline children according to the methods requested by the parents
- The candidates should be able to instruct children in personal hygiene and social development, keep records of daily activities and health information regarding children, and maintain a safe and healthy environment in the home
- The candidates should be able to organize activities such as games and outings for children, prepare and serve nutritious meals, prepare infants and children for rest periods, and supervise and care for children
- The candidates should be able to take children to and from school and to appointments, tend to the emotional well-being of children, help children with homework, and cook
