Salary: $17.20 to $23.00 hourly (To be negotiated) for 40 to 44 hours per week
Employment Type: Permanent employment Full time
Location: Scarborough, ON
Shifts: Day, Morning
Type of materials: Canvas, Cotton or Synthetic, Knits, Leather, Satin, Silk and Velvet
Requirements:
Languages: Candidates must have knowledge of the English Language
Education: Candidates don’t need standard educational qualification such as degree, certificate or diploma
Experience: Candidates should have experience of 1 to less than 2 years
Equipment and machinery experience: Button Holer or Button Sewer, Double Needle Machine, Embroidery or Quilter, Hemmer or Blindstitcher, Industrial Sewing Machine, Leather Stitching Machine, Seamer, Automatic and Single Needle Machine
Sewing experience: Commercial, Domestic, Garment Section Work and Whole Garment
Physical Requirements:
- The candidates should be able to distinguish between colours and pay attention to detail and work in a combination of sitting, standing, walking
- The candidates should be able to work in a fast-paced environment and demonstrate hand-eye co-ordination and perform physically demanding tasks
- The candidates should be able to perform repetitive tasks and work while sitting
Other Requirements:
- The candidates should be accurate, sound in judgment, and organized
- The candidates should be reliable
Responsibilities:
- The candidates should be able to perform minor repairs and adjustments to equipment and operate machines to join sections of garments or other articles into finished products on a piece-work or production basis and operate sewing machines or sew by hand
- The candidates should be able to set in sleeves, pockets, collars and other garment pieces and use sewing guides and tension devices
Candidate Status:
- Candidate must be a Canadian Citizen or temporary or permanent resident of Canada
- Candidate must have legal authorization (Work Permit) to work in Canada
