Transportation information: Own Vehicle, Valid Driver’s License, and Willing to Travel for Extended Periods, Willing to Travel Overnight
Transportation/travel experience: Local and Short-haul
Requirements:
Languages:Â Candidates must have knowledge of the English Language
Education: Candidates need standard educational qualifications such as a Secondary (high) school graduation certificate
Experience: Candidates should have experience of 1 to less than 2 years
Documentation knowledge: Accident or incident reports, Driver logbook, and Trip reports
Type of trucking and equipment: Dump truck
Communication systems experience: Citizens band (CB) radio
Own tools/equipment:Â Cellular Phone, Hard Hat, Steel-Toed Safety Boots, Safety Vest, and Gloves
Credentials:Â AZ class license, Air Brake (Z) Endorsement, and Commercial Vehicle Operator’s Registration (CVOR) Certificate
Security and safety:Â Basic Security Clearance, Bondable, Criminal Record Check, Driver’s Validity Licence Check, and Driving Record Check (Abstract)
Physical Requirements:
- The candidates should have attention to detail and be able to handle heavy loads
- The candidates should be available for overtime and be able to handle physically demanding tasks
- The candidates should be able to perform repetitive tasks and be able to sit for extended periods
- The candidates should be able to lift up to 23 kg (50 lbs)
Responsibilities:
- The candidates should be able to address customers’ complaints or concerns, maintain professionalism in customer service, and operate and drive straight or articulated trucks to transport goods and materials
- The candidates should be able to oversee the condition of the vehicle, inspect tires, lights, brakes, cold storage, and other equipment, perform brake adjustments, and conduct pre-trip, en route, and post-trip inspections
- The candidates should be able to perform preventive maintenance, receive and relay information to central dispatch, record cargo information, hours of service, distance traveled, and fuel consumption, and tarp and ensure the safety and security of cargo
Candidate Status:
- Candidate must be a Canadian Citizen or temporary or permanent resident of Canada
- Candidate must have legal authorization (Work Permit) to work in Canada
