Salary: $24.00 hourly for 30 to 40 hours per week

Location: Triton, NL & St. John’s, NL
Shifts: To be determined
Transportation information: Driver’s abstract, valid driver’s licence, and vehicle supplied by employer
Work setting: Willing to relocate

Requirements:

Languages: Candidates must have knowledge of the English Language
Education: Candidates need standard educational qualifications such as a Secondary (high) school graduation certificate
Experience: Candidates should have experience of 3 to less than 5 years
Type of experience: Tour and charter bus driver, buses
Transportation/travel experience:  Local, national, international, and provincial/territorial 
Credentials: Class 4/4F/F/4A-B-C Licence (ambulances, emergency vehicles and buses with fewer than 24 passengers)
Security and safety: Criminal record check, driving record check (abstract), drug test, and medical exam

Physical Requirements:

  • The candidates should possess 20/20 vision for optimal visual acuity
  • The candidates should demonstrate the ability to distinguish between colors accurately
  • The candidates should exhibit attention to detail in their work and tasks
  • The candidates should have proficient hand-eye coordination
  • The candidates should be comfortable with prolonged periods of sitting as part of their duties

Candidate Status:

  • Candidate must be a Canadian Citizen or temporary or permanent resident of Canada
  • Candidate must have legal authorization (Work Permit) to work in Canada
  • If Candidates are unable to fulfill above mentioned requirements, don’t apply for the position

Responsibilities:

  • The candidates should be able to operate buses, school buses, or streetcars proficiently to transport passengers safely
  • The candidates should be able to provide sightseeing information to passengers when required
  • The candidates should be able to offer passengers information regarding fares, schedules, and stops accurately
  • The candidates should be able to collect fares, process transactions, and maintain proper records
  • The candidates should be able to report delays, mechanical problems, and accidents promptly and accurately.
  • The candidates should be able to efficiently load and unload the vehicle while ensuring passenger safety
  • The candidates should be able to direct passengers during emergency evacuation procedures effectively
  • The candidates should be able to interact professionally and courteously with the public at all times
  • The candidates should be able to complete logbooks and reports accurately and in a timely manner
  • The candidates should be able to handle difficult passengers and resolve conflicts diplomatically
  • The candidates should be able to communicate effectively with passengers, dispatchers, or other drivers using two-way radio systems
  • The candidates should be able to perform pre-trip, en route, and post-trip inspections meticulously, overseeing all aspects of the vehicle to ensure safety and compliance
