Requirements:

Languages: Candidates must have knowledge of the English Language
Education: Candidates should have Degree/diploma in Computer Science/Computer Technology or equivalent work-related experience
Experience: Candidates should have minimum 3 years related experience, preferably in the Transit industry or municipal experience

Other Requirements:

  • The candidates should have the ability to conduct fieldwork (at Transit sites and on-board buses) to work with users and observe business systems in use
  • The candidates should possess extensive experience in business re-modelling, system administration, and support of mission-critical systems in a fast-paced environment
  • The candidates should have extensive experience with SQL, WebFocus, Power BI, and Power BI Report Builder
  • The candidates should have experience with transit business technology such as PRESTO, Fareboxes, CAD/AVL, AVM, Maintenance Work Order Management, and Transit Scheduling software
  • The candidates should have exceptional MS Office skills and Financial reporting experience
  • The candidates should possess exceptional communication and interpersonal skills with a strong aptitude for working with users, vendors, and clients
  • The candidates should have strong analytical and problem-solving skills

Responsibilities:

  • The candidates should be able to provide analysis, process modeling, and support to established and proposed Transit systems to ensure optimum functionality and configuration
  • The candidates should be able to monitor and recommend changes to business processes and supporting technology to improve the quality of service plan deliverables
  • The candidates should be able to represent Brampton Transit on various Committees with both internal and external stakeholders
  • The candidates should be able to review data, trends, and correlations to identify related issues and gather user technical and business requirements to develop into a conceptual design
  • The candidates should be able to collate, analyze, and interpret data dealing with complex problems and unexpected situations, including making recommendations and implementing approved process improvements
  • The candidates should be able to establish performance measurement-based tools, develop and maintain business intelligence (BI) reports and dashboards, and participate in test plans development and review sessions
  • The candidates should be able to retrieve statistical data on users, identify deviations for appropriate correction or review measures, and regularly report on system usage while maintaining the integrity of the system and its users
  • The candidates should be able to troubleshoot issues to ensure prompt resolution within the confines of system accountability and respond to user-identified system issues and concerns in a timely manner
  • The candidates should be able to liaise with system vendors to ensure identified issues are resolved, tested, and implemented in a timely fashion and identify associated business risks and potential impact on Transit Systems and service delivery
  • The candidates should be able to keep abreast of software development and make applicable recommendations, participate in testing and implementation of system modules, and continuously review practices and processes to identify opportunities for improvement
  • The candidates should be able to oversee and direct third-party vendors in the management of related system functions and provide feedback on vendor/system performance
  • The candidates should be able to define and document business functions and processes, consult with functional and Transit management staff to identify, define, and document procedures, problems, and security levels of system access
  • The candidates should be able to maintain complete and accurate documentation of various procedures and functions within Transit business units, provide training materials, conduct end-user training sessions, and coordinate end-user testing
  • The candidates should be able to ensure the system is not compromised with improper usage or tracking and provide technical assistance, mentoring, and coaching of a technical nature
  • The candidates should be able to lead and/or participate in project teams and focus groups for project initiation, development, and upgrades and liaise with third-party vendors, other Transit Agencies, and various other Transit industry partners in the discussion of issues and requests and identification of solutions
