Requirements:

Languages: Candidates must have knowledge of the English Language
Education: Candidates should have completed a post-secondary education in Supply Chain Management or Materials Management
Experience: Candidates should have three to four years of job-related experience in the procurement field

Physical Requirements:

  • The candidates should have a strong understanding of supply management concepts

Other Requirements:

  • The candidates should have completed the APICS syllabus and be looking towards obtaining the CPIM designation
  • The candidates should have two to three years of SAP experience both from a Material Management standpoint and a Financial, Controlling standpoint
  • The candidates should have experience with computer systems, with SAP, Excel, and MS Word being a definite
  • The candidates should have GMP training and experience, possess an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience

Responsibilities:

  • The candidates should be able to leverage strong interpersonal and communication skills to liaise with medical supply business owners, establishing quantities and shipping schedules for medical supplies based on forecasts and supplier lead times
  • The candidates should be able to utilize excellent attention to detail to proactively monitor inventory levels and MRP output, ensuring accuracy, completeness, and efficient management of inventory to reduce the financial risk of obsolescence
  • The candidates should be able to interpret and analyze client requirements and specifications, including reviewing requisition documents, evaluating operational issues and policies, systems data, and standards, and processing requests
  • The candidates should be able to assess and compare quotations to ensure the right product is purchased from the right company at the right price and quality, along with the supplier’s ability to deliver on time
  • The candidates should be able to investigate and resolve issues from Head Office departments and Canadian Blood Services sites related to defective goods, poor service, or late deliveries
  • The candidates should be able to review discrepancies and collaborate with suppliers and requisitioners to determine the best solution
  • The candidates should be able to analyze trends and make recommendations for improvements to procurement processes, establishing and implementing improved techniques and methods of procurement activities for client departments
  • The candidates should be able to collect and interpret data on assigned procurement and supply activities and produce documentation in support of service activities, perform other related duties
