Requirements:
Languages: Candidates must have knowledge of the English Language
Education:Â Candidates should have completion of a minimum of a 3-year degree in Procurement and Supply Management
Experience: Candidates should have at least 3 years of practical experience in a purchasing environment, with public sector experience
Other Requirements:
- The candidates should demonstrate a good understanding of purchasing best practices
- The candidates should have good interpersonal skills to tactfully interact with Directors, staff, and vendors
- The candidates should possess proficiency in the use of computers and related software, Â demonstrate analytical, problem-solving, and evaluation skills
- The candidates should exhibit strong written and oral communication skills, a customer service orientation and demonstrate good organizational skills
- The candidates should have knowledge and skills with computerized purchasing systems such as PeopleSoft or Bonfire
- The candidates should hold or be actively working towards one of the following certification, Certified Public Procurement Officer (CPPO), Certified Professional Public Buyer (CPPB), Supply Chain Management Professional (SCMP), Certified Procurement Professional (NIGP-CPP) andOther relevant designation and certification
Responsibilities:
- The candidates should be able to troubleshoot and resolve requisition problems with the end user, holding the processing of requisitions until issues and aid in resolving issues with accounts payable (AP), such as invoices without purchase orders (POs)
- The candidates should be able to validate vendor application forms and maintain the vendor database in PeopleSoft and manage and track contract renewals, reaching out to vendors for potential additional savings when appropriate and determine tax and freight charges and update purchase orders (POs) accordingly
- The candidates should be able to actively participate in quarter-end and year-end processes, including accrual and PO rollover tasks and flag all POs during March as Fiscal Closing or Next Fiscal to ensure processing continuity
- The candidates should be able to identify areas and individuals requiring further training to improve the efficiency of Purchase Order flow and provide training for individuals and small groups
- The candidates should be able to uphold all College policies, purchasing best practices, and Ontario Broader Public Sector Supply Procurement Directives, ensuring compliance with trade agreements
- The candidates should be able to review requisitions for compliance with procurement processes, ensuring accuracy in pricing, currency, and payment terms and deliver procurement services with a focus on high-quality, compliant customer service
- The candidates should be able to serve as the first point of contact for assigned faculty or departments, develop and maintain strategic relationships with vendors to align services with the College’s goals and attend meetings with Sheridan staff, vendor representatives, and consortium committees and perform other related duties
