Requirements:

Languages: Candidates must have knowledge of the English Language
Education: Candidates need standard educational qualifications such as a Secondary (high) school graduation certificate or equivalent experience
Experience: Candidates don’t need experience, training will be provided
Area of work experience: Finished products and Subassemblies

Physical Requirements:

• The candidates should be able to perform repetitive tasks, handle heavy loads, and work in a physically demanding environment
• The candidates should be able to demonstrate manual dexterity, pay attention to detail, and use hand-eye co-ordination
• The candidates should be able to stand for extended periods, bend, crouch, and kneel, and distinguish between colours
• The candidates should be able to work in a fast-paced environment, work overtime as required, and handle weight
• The candidates should be able to handle up to 13.5 kg (30 lbs)

• The candidates should work as a team player

Responsibilities:

• The candidates should be able to make minor adjustments and repairs to furniture, prepare, sand, and trim wooden furniture and fixture parts, and set up and operate finishing machines or finish furniture by hand
• The candidates should be able to assemble wooden or metal furniture and fixture parts to form subassemblies and complete articles, read blueprints and drawings, and stain or finish wood to specified colour
• The candidates should be able to apply toners, highlights, glazes or shaders to obtain desired finish, reinforce assembled furniture and fixtures with dowels or other supports, and decorate wood surfaces
• The candidates should be able to inspect furniture and fixture subassemblies and finished products for conformance to quality standards, clean, polish and wax furniture, and sand metal furniture to prepare for finish and spray with paint or other materials
• The candidates should be able to smooth gouges with wood filler and sand wood
