Shifts: Day, Evening, Early Morning, Morning, 08:00 to 17:00
Transportation information: Public transportation is available

Requirements:

Languages: Candidates must have knowledge of the English Language
Asset languages: Somali
Education: Candidates need standard educational qualifications such as College, CEGEP or other non-university certificate or diploma from a program of 3 months to less than 1 year or equivalent experience
Experience: Candidates should have experience of 1 to less than 2 years
Credentials: CPR Certificate
Security and safety: Reference required and Criminal record check

Physical Requirements:

• The candidates should note that the environment is non-smoking
• The candidates should be prepared for repetitive tasks, capable of working under pressure, and handling loads up to 9 kg (20 lbs)

Other Requirements:

• The candidates should prioritize client focus, possess efficient interpersonal skills, demonstrate excellent oral communication, flexibility, initiative, sound judgment, organization, and reliability

• Canadian citizens and permanent or temporary foreign workers of Canada are eligible for this position

Responsibilities:

• The candidates should be able to assume full responsibility for the household in the absence of parents
• The candidates should be able to perform light housekeeping and cleaning duties
• The candidates should be able to shop for food and household supplies
• The candidates should be able to travel with the family on trips and assist with child supervision and housekeeping duties
• The candidates should be able to wash, iron, and press clothing and household linens
• The candidates should be able to discipline children according to the methods requested by the parents
• The candidates should be able to instruct children in personal hygiene and social development
• The candidates should be able to keep records of daily activities and health information regarding children
• The candidates should be able to maintain a safe and healthy environment in the home
• The candidates should be able to organize activities such as games and outings for children
• The candidates should be able to prepare and serve nutritious meals
• The candidates should be able to supervise and care for children
• The candidates should be able to take children to and from school and to appointments
• The candidates should be able to tend to the emotional well-being of children
• The candidates should be able to help children with homework
