Requirements:

Languages: Candidates must have knowledge of the English or French Language
Education: Candidates need standard educational qualifications such as a Secondary (high) school graduation certificate or equivalent experience
Experience: Candidates should have experience of 1 to less than 2 years
Credentials: First Aid Certificate
Security and safety: Child Abuse Registry check, Child welfare check, Criminal record check, Drug test, Medical exam, Reference required, Basic security clearance

Physical Requirements:

  • The candidates should be able to handle heavy loads, work overtime as required, and perform physically demanding tasks
  • The candidates should be able to perform repetitive tasks, work under pressure, and have attention to detail
  • The candidates should be able to lift up to 9 kg (20 lbs)

Other Requirements:

  • The candidates should be client-focused and efficient in interpersonal skills
  • The candidates should be excellent in oral and written communication and flexible

Responsibilities:

  • The candidates should be able to change diapers, sterilize bottles and prepare formulas, and assume full responsibility for household in absence of parents
  • The candidates should be able to perform light housekeeping and cleaning duties, shop for food and household supplies, and travel with family on trips and assist with child supervision and housekeeping duties
  • The candidates should be able to wash, iron and press clothing and household linens, bathe, dress and feed infants and children, and discipline children according to the methods requested by the parents
  • The candidates should be able to instruct children in personal hygiene and social development, keep records of daily activities and health information regarding children, and maintain a safe and healthy environment in the home
  • The candidates should be able to organize activities such as games and outings for children, prepare and serve nutritious meals, and prepare infants and children for rest periods
  • The candidates should be able to supervise and care for children, take children to and from school and to appointments, and tend to emotional well-being of children
  • The candidates should be able to cook

Candidate Status:

  • Candidate must be a Canadian Citizen or temporary or permanent resident of Canada
  • Candidate must have legal authorization (Work Permit) to work in Canada
