Salary: $23.80 hourly for 40 hours per week
Employment Type: Permanent employment Full time
Location: Sidney, BC
Shifts: Day, Evening, Weekend, Shift, Overtime, Flexible Hours, Early Morning, Morning
Transportation information: Public transportation is available

Requirements:

Languages: Candidates must have knowledge of the English Language
Education: Candidates don’t need standard educational qualification such as degree, certificate or diploma
Experience: Candidates don’t need experience, training will be provided
Equipment and machinery experience: Nail guns
Own tools/equipment: Steel-toed safety boots and Hard hat
Construction specialization: Driveways, Industrial, Commercial, and Institutional, Pipelines, Residential, Roads and Bridges, Sidewalks and Curbs, Underground and Tunnel Work, and Water Mains

Physical Requirements:

  • The candidates should be able to work in a fast-paced environment, handle physically demanding tasks, and meet tight deadlines
  • The candidates should be able to demonstrate manual dexterity, handle heavy loads, and work overtime as required
  • The candidates should be able to lift up to 23 kg (50 lbs)

Other Requirements:

  • The candidates should be able to focus on clients, demonstrate efficient interpersonal skills, and show flexibility
  • The candidates should be able to demonstrate reliability and work as a team player

Responsibilities:

  • The candidates should be able to load, unload and transport construction materials, erect and dismantle concrete forms, scaffolding, ramps, catwalks, shoring and barricades, and mix, pour and spread materials such as concrete and asphalt
  • The candidates should be able to assist in framing houses, erecting walls, building roofs, aligning pipes during pipeline construction, and drilling and blasting rock on construction sites
  • The candidates should be able to level earth to fine grade specifications, pave and rake asphalt, assist in demolishing buildings, and clean and pile salvaged materials
  • The candidates should be able to clean up chemical spills and other contaminants, remove rubble and other debris at construction sites, and tend or feed machines or equipment used in construction

Candidate Status:

  • Candidate must be a Canadian Citizen or temporary or permanent resident of Canada
  • Candidate must have legal authorization (Work Permit) to work in Canada
  • If Candidates are unable to fulfill above mentioned requirements, don’t apply for the position
