Requirements:

Languages: Candidates must have knowledge of the English Language.
Education: Candidates don’t need standard educational qualifications such as high school, a bachelor’s degree, a certificate, or a diploma
Experience: Candidates don’t need experience although having experience is an asset

Physical Requirements:

  • The candidate should be able to sit/walk for 8 hours and also perform tasks such as lifting and/or carrying merchandise items, as required, on a regular, frequent, and unassisted basis. Merchandise items may vary in weight from “light” to “heavy”

Other Requirements:

  • The candidate should be able to work in a fast-paced environment that involves constant interaction with customers
  • The candidate should have skills such as delivering friendly and courteous service while processing customer purchases efficiently and correctly and operation of a computerized cash register
  • The candidate should have skills such as being a highly approachable, customer-oriented individual who thrives in offering exceptional service to customers and have strong belief in the Canadian Tire values of honesty, integrity, and respect.
  • The candidate should have effective written and oral communication skills and the ability to maintain professional communication, even in challenging situations and also be able to pay attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • The candidate should have the ability to resolve retail and/or customer issues and also have the ability to multitask, adapt and cope with challenging and changing situations
  • The candidate should have skills such as a positive attitude, punctuality and a solid work ethic and also have strong mathematical ability and typing skills
  • The candidate should have the ability to work with computerized systems and with minimum supervision
  • The candidate should be able to provide details in regards to Reference Check, Employment Verifications, Criminal Background Check and Credit Check

Responsibilities:

  • The candidate should be able to operate the cash register and all point of sales functions and also process customer purchases efficiently, following standardized procedures.
  • The candidate should be able to accurately verify merchandise quantities, descriptions and prices when processing customer purchases and also balance cash and is aware of the amount of cash on hand and also maintain merchandise around the cash area and ensure that retail basics are executed efficiently.
  • The candidate should be able to handle multiple customers in an effective and efficient manner and also deal with challenging situations and conflict resolution in a professional manner.
