Salary: $15.00 to $15.50 hourly (To be negotiated) for 30 to 35 hours per week

Requirements:
Languages: Candidates must have knowledge of the English Language
Education: Candidates need standard educational qualifications such as a Secondary (high) school graduation certificate
Experience: Candidates don’t need experience, training will be provided
Student status: Full-time enrollment
Experience with special needs children: Children with an intellectual disability, and children with allergies
Security and safety: Criminal record check and vulnerable sector check
Physical Requirements:
- The candidates should be comfortable with repetitive tasks and prepared for physically demanding work, demonstrating attention to detail
- The candidates should be able to perform a combination of sitting, standing, and walking, and be capable of bending, crouching, and kneeling as needed
Other Requirements:
- The candidates should prioritize punctuality and demonstrate dependability, possessing efficient interpersonal skills and displaying flexibility
- The candidates should have interpersonal awareness, demonstrating reliability and being team players, adhering to values and ethics, and demonstrating honesty

Candidate Status:
- Candidate must be a Canadian Citizen or temporary or permanent resident of Canada
- Candidate must have legal authorization (Work Permit) to work in Canada

Responsibilities:
- The candidates should be able to develop and implement child-care programs that support and promote the physical, cognitive, emotional, and social development of children, and assist early childhood educators in carrying out such programs
- The candidates should be able to lead activities by telling or reading stories, teaching songs, and taking children to local points of interest, and engage children in activities such as preparing crafts
- The candidates should be able to encourage children to express creativity through art, dramatic play, music, and physical activity, and guide and assist them in the development of proper eating, dressing, and toilet habits
- The candidates should be able to maintain daycare equipment, assist in housekeeping and cooking duties, and prepare snacks and arrange rooms or furniture for lunch and rest periods
- The candidates should be able to observe children for signs of potential learning or behavioral problems, prepare reports for parents or supervisors, and submit written observations on children to early childhood educators or supervisors
- The candidates should have knowledge of the Day Nurseries Act and licensing regulations, establish guidelines for behavior, and assess the abilities, interests, and needs of children, discussing progress or problems with parents and other staff members
- The candidates should attend staff meetings to discuss progress and problems of children, establish and maintain collaborative relationships with co-workers and community service providers working with children, and plan and maintain an environment that protects the health, security, and well-being of children
