Requirements:

Languages: Candidates must have knowledge of the English Language
Education: Candidates should have completion of Master of Social Work
Experience: Candidates should have two years experience in the relevant field

Physical Requirements:

  • The candidates should demonstrate capability for original and creative thought in the production of news for radio, TV, and digital platforms, with proven writing skill and work flexible hours and overtime
  • The candidates should be able to solve problems independently and in group discussions, with openness to new ideas and approaches

Other Requirements:

  • The candidates should have a university degree or equivalent and gaining exposure to journalism, computers, and the technology of radio or television broadcasting and digital services
  • The candidates should have strong knowledge and understanding of Atlantic Canada and the issues that matter to the region’s francophone and Acadian communities
  • The candidates should have experience in booking interview guests, developing lines of questioning, writing focused introductions, and preparing and writing tape segments
  • The candidates should possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills and be a team player
  • The candidates should be comfortable with the demands and needs of television, radio, and digital news production
  • The candidates should have strong organizational skills and the ability to handle a variety of functions quickly and efficiently
  • The candidates should understand the structure and workflow of Radio-Canada News in regional centres and across the network and be able to build and maintain strong relationships with counterparts in other stations

Responsibilities:

  • The candidates should be able to assess child protection concerns and work with families and communities to address them
  • The candidates should be able to collaborate with and support individuals and families and and develop case plans with families
  • The candidates should be able to work closely with the community and advocate for connections to community resources
  • The candidates should be able to participate in risk assessments, court testimonies, and evaluations
  • The candidates should be able to plan with and supervise children in the care of the Minister
