Requirements:
Languages: Candidates must have knowledge of the English and French Language
Education: Candidates need standard educational qualifications such as a Secondary (high) school graduation certificate or equivalent experience
Experience: Candidates should have considerable experience in the relevant field
Physical Requirements:
- The candidate should have the physical ability to lift mail items weighing up to 22.7 kg (50 lb) and be available to work on short notice
Other Requirements:
- The candidate should possess a valid Class 3/D driver’s licence (or higher) with the appropriate provincial air brake endorsements
- The candidate should have a safe driving record for at least 3 years (a recent driver’s abstract or a commercial driver’s abstract dated within the last 30 days will be required)
- The candidate should have experience in customer service, experience as a professional driver in commercial delivery and experience driving a 5-ton truck or larger
Responsibilities:
- The candidates should be able to load and unload postal vehicles while keeping mail and Canada Post property safe and secure at all times and collect, sort, and deliver mail
- The candidates should be able to operate portable communications devices and perform vehicle safety checks
- The candidates should be able to complete documentation and maintain records and communicate with customers and the public
- The candidates should be able to shuttle corporate delivery vehicles between parking locations and loading platforms to facilitate pre-loading
