Salary: $18.00 to $20.00 hourly (To be negotiated) for 30 to 40 hours per week

Location: Halifax, NS
Shifts: Day, Evening, Weekend, Morning
Transportation information: Valid driver’s licence and Public transportation is available
Work setting: Apartment/Condominium Complex, Urban Area, Various Locations, Commercial Building, Industrial Facility or Establishment, and Cleaning Service Company

Requirements:

Languages: Candidates must have knowledge of the English Language
Education: Candidates need standard educational qualifications such as a Secondary (high) school graduation certificate
Experience: Candidates should have experience of 1 to less than 2 years
Area of work experience: Cleaning
Equipment: Industrial vacuum cleaners/power sweepers, Carpet cleaning machine, and Upholstery cleaning equipment
Own tools/equipment: Steel-toed safety boots
Security and safety: Driver’s validity licence check and Driving record check (abstract)

Physical Requirements:

• The candidates should be able to work under pressure, perform repetitive tasks, handle heavy loads, be physically demanding, and bend, crouch, and kneel
• The candidates should be able to work in a fast-paced environment, have attention to detail, stand for extended periods, and meet tight deadlines

Other Requirements:

• The candidates should be dependable, have excellent oral communication skills, be flexible, take initiative, and be organized
• The candidates should be reliable, have efficient interpersonal skills, be team players, have a client focus, and uphold values and ethics

Responsibilities:

• The candidates should be able to sweep, mop, scrub and wax hallways, floors and stairs, operate industrial vacuum cleaners to remove scraps, dirt, heavy debris and other refuse, and empty trash cans and other waste containers
• The candidates should be able to wash windows, interior walls and ceilings, clean and disinfect bathrooms and fixtures, and work with minimal supervision
• The candidates should be able to vacuum carpeting, area rugs, draperies and upholstered furniture, pick up debris and empty trash containers, and clean and disinfect elevators
• The candidates should be able to sweep, mop, wash and polish floors, and clean, disinfect and polish kitchen and bathroom fixtures and appliances

Candidate Status:

• Candidate must be a Canadian Citizen or temporary or permanent resident of Canada
• Candidate must have legal authorization (Work Permit) to work in Canada
