Requirements:

Languages: Candidates must have knowledge of the English Language
Education: Candidates should have completion of WHMIS Certificate within 3 months of hire
Experience: Candidates should have experience performing minor maintenance in multi-use buildings

Physical Requirements:

• The candidates should be willing to occasionally work outside in adverse weather conditions
• The candidates should adhere to the mandatory use of personal protective equipment

Other Requirements:

• The candidates should have experience performing light and heavy cleaning duties using janitorial equipment
• The candidates should possess good organizational and problem-solving skills and reliable, with a good work ethic
• The candidates should have good communication skills and the ability to work in both team and individual environments
• The candidates should be able to recognize and address safety issues and demonstrate the ability to adapt to changing priorities
• The candidates should obtain and maintain RCMP vulnerable sector check security clearance before hire

Responsibilities:

• The candidates should be able to perform floor care, general cleaning, sanitizing, and clearing snow as a Cleaning Attendant in Ross River, a rural town in the Yukon
• The candidates should be able to identify maintenance and safety concerns and address them promptly
• The candidates should be able to maintain government facilities and their surroundings according to department standards
