Requirements:
Languages: Candidates must have knowledge of the English Language
Education:Â Candidates should have completion of a Master’s Degree in Psychology or Social Work
Experience: Candidates should have a minimum of 5 years of experience in mental health assessment and intervention
Other Requirements:
- The candidates should be actively registered or eligible for full registration (not provisional) with the College of Alberta Psychologists (CAP) or the Alberta College of Social Work (ACSW)
- The candidates should have, including the restricted activity of psychosocial intervention and meet minimum education requirements, including a Master’s degree in Psychology, Social Work (with Psychosocial Intervention Authorization), Occupational Therapy, Nursing, or a relevant discipline with expertise in assessment and psychotherapy
- The candidates should note that equivalent education and experience will be considered for the role
Responsibilities:
- The candidates should be able to provide clinical supervision for a discipline, practice area, or service sector, ensuring excellence in professional practice and delivery of patient and family-centered care
- The candidates should be able to support clinicians providing addiction and mental health services to individuals, families, and groups through expert supervision
- The candidates should be able to oversee a range of activities, including assessments, mental health interventions, and psychosocial and psychological care, while ensuring adherence to best practices
- The candidates should be able to supervise regulated staff, those meeting regulatory requirements for practice, and unregulated staff conducting restricted psychosocial interventions
- The candidates should be able to observe clinical sessions, review documentation and reports, conduct case consultations, and provide timely guidance on complex cases
- The candidates should be able to collaborate with interdisciplinary team members, psychiatrists, and community partners to support professional and collaborative practice
- The candidates should be able to participate in the planning, implementation, and evaluation of mental health treatment services in hospital and community settings
- The candidates should be able to identify and address clinical practice gaps and system-level issues, ensuring risk management is prioritized
- The candidates should be able to assist leadership in the hiring, orientation, and performance evaluation of clinical staff, supporting ongoing professional development
