Requirements:
Languages: Candidates must have knowledge of the English Language
Education: Candidates should have completion of a high school diploma
Experience: Candidates should have a minimum of 2 years of experience in body repair or automotive painting
Physical Requirements:
- The candidates should be available to work nights, evenings, days, weekends, and holidays
Other Requirements:
- The candidates should be able to provide a Diploma of Vocational Studies and possess a valid Painter Certificate (310B or equivalent)
- The candidates should demonstrate excellent written and oral communication skills and basic computer knowledge, including Word, Excel, email, and internet use
- The candidates should hold a valid driver’s license (mandatory) and pass and obtain an Airside Vehicle Operator’s Permit (AVOP) (mandatory)
- The candidates should be able to obtain and maintain any applicable transportation security clearances and additional authorizations based on the work location
Responsibilities:
- The candidates should be able to identify ground support equipment and vehicles that require painting and prepare, clean, and sand metal surfaces in readiness for painting
- The candidates should be able to apply primers and enamels effectively to surfaces and apply and mix paints according to required specifications
- The candidates should be able to use both power and non-power tools, such as spray guns, sanders, and paint booths, to complete the painting job and clean and polish painted surfaces and remove or replace decals
- The candidates should be able to follow proper safety procedures and use Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) and complete assignments within established timeframes
- The candidates should be able to produce satisfactory results that meet client expectations and Air Canada standards and accept direction from the Manager or Lead Hand
