Requirements:
Languages: Candidates must have knowledge of the English Language
Education:Â Candidates should have a high school diploma or Diploma of Vocational Studies
Experience: Candidates should have a minimum of 3-5 years of experience as a body repair/automotive painter or equivalent experience
Physical Requirements:
- The candidates should be available to work night shifts, evenings, days, including weekends and holidays
- The candidates should have the ability to pass and obtain an airside vehicle operator’s permit (AVOP)
Other Requirements:
- The candidates should have possession of a valid Painter Certificate, Red Seal 310B, or equivalent certification is required
- The candidates should have excellent written and oral communication skills
- The candidates should have basic computer knowledge, including proficiency in Word, Excel, e-mail, and internet use
- The candidates should have possession of a valid driver’s license
- The candidates should be able to obtain and maintain any applicable transportation security clearances and additional authorizations depending on the work location. Please refer to Transport Canada’s site for more details
- The candidates should be eligible to work in the country of interest, and seeking any required work permits/visas or other authorizations, which may be required, is the sole responsibility of the candidates applying for this position
Responsibilities:
- The candidates should be able to identify Ground Support Equipment/Vehicle(s) that require painting
- The candidates should be able to prepare, clean, and sand metal surfaces that are to be painted
- The candidates should be able to apply primers and enamels to the prepared surfaces
- The candidates should be skilled in applying paint and should be capable of mixing paints as required
- The candidates should be proficient in using both power and non-power tools to complete the paint job, which may include spray guns, sanders, and working in a paint booth
- The candidates should be able to clean and polish painted surfaces and remove/replace decals as necessary
- The candidates should be able to adhere to proper safety procedures and use Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) while performing their tasks
- The candidates should be able to to complete assignments within the specified timeframe
- The candidates should be able to aim to produce a satisfactory result for the client and work in accordance with the standards of Air Canada
- The candidates should be able to be willing to accept direction from the Manager or Lead hand to ensure the successful completion of the painting tasks
