Requirements:
Languages:Â Candidates must have knowledge of the English Language
Education:Â Candidates need standard educational qualifications such as a Secondary (high) school graduation certificate or equivalent experience
Experience: Candidates don’t need experience, training will be provided
Own tools/equipment:Â Steel-toed safety boots
Security and safety: Basic security clearance
Physical Requirements:
- The candidates should be able to work in a fast-paced environment, perform physically demanding tasks, and work under tight deadlines
- The candidates should be able to handle repetitive tasks, demonstrate attention to detail, and demonstrate hand-eye coordination
Other Requirements:
- The candidates should demonstrate dependability, show flexibility, and demonstrate reliability
- The candidates should work effectively as a team player
Responsibilities:
- The candidates should be able to load, unload and transport construction materials, clean and lubricate cranes, and erect and dismantle concrete forms, scaffolding, ramps, catwalks, shoring and barricades
- The candidates should be able to mix, pour and spread materials such as concrete and asphalt, help medical examiner in charge, and assist in aligning pipes during pipeline construction
- The candidates should be able to assist in drilling and blasting rock on construction sites, assist in framing houses, erecting walls and building roofs, and level earth to fine grade specifications
- The candidates should be able to pave and rake asphalt, assist in demolishing buildings, and clean and pile salvaged materials
- The candidates should be able to perform routine maintenance work, clean up chemical spills and other contaminants, and remove rubble and other debris at construction sites
- The candidates should be able to tend or feed machines or equipment used in construction, and direct traffic at or near construction sites
Candidate Status:
- Candidate must be a Canadian Citizen or temporary or permanent resident of Canada
- Candidate must have legal authorization (Work Permit) to work in Canada
