Requirements:
Languages: Candidates must have knowledge of the English Language
Education: Candidates need standard educational qualifications such as a Secondary (high) school graduation certificate
Experience: Candidates should have experience of 1 to less than 7 months
Area of specialization: Residential
Equipment and machinery experience: Reciprocating saws, Circular saws, Concrete saws, Grinding machine, Grouting machine, Jackhammers, Air compressors, Air guns, Nail guns, Drills, Chain saw, Sledgehammer, and Hand tools
Own tools/equipment: Steel-toed safety boots
Physical Requirements:
- The candidates should be comfortable working outdoors, at heights, and in confined spaces, as well as in noisy, dusty, and hot environments
- The candidates should be capable of meeting the physical demands of the job and handle heavy loads, possess manual dexterity and good hand-eye coordination, and perform repetitive tasks efficiently
- The candidates should demonstrate attention to detail and possess sound discrimination skills
Other Requirements:
- The candidates should possess efficient interpersonal skills and be team players, demonstrating flexibility in their approach to tasks and being hardworking
Candidate Status:
- Canadian citizens and permanent or temporary foreign workers of Canada are eligible for this position
- International Candidates who don’t have a valid Canadian work permit also can apply
Responsibilities:
- The candidates should be able to load, unload, and transport construction materials safely and efficiently, as well as erect and dismantle concrete forms, scaffolding, ramps, catwalks, shoring, and barricades according to project requirements
- The candidates should be able to mix, pour, and spread materials such as concrete or mortar accurately and effectively, assist heavy equipment operators, and perform routine maintenance on tools, equipment, and machinery
- The candidates should assist in framing houses, erecting walls, building roofs, and demolishing buildings following safety protocols, clean up chemical spills and other contaminants, and remove rubble and debris from construction sites
- The candidates should tend to machines or equipment used in construction, monitor their operation, and ensure their proper functioning, while also being able to read and interpret blueprints accurately to understand project specifications and requirements
