Requirements:
Languages: Candidates must have knowledge of the English Language
Education: Candidates need standard educational qualifications such as a Secondary (high) school graduation certificate or equivalent experience
Experience: Candidates should have experience of 1 to less than 7 months
Own tools/equipment: Steel-toed safety boots, Hard hat, Safety glasses/goggles, Gloves, Cellular phone, and Safety vest
Security and safety: Criminal record check, Drug test
Physical Requirements:
- The candidates should be able to work in a fast-paced environment and be capable of working under pressure
- The candidates should be prepared for physically demanding tasks and comfortable with repetitive tasks
- The candidates should be able to handle heavy loads, up to 45 kg (100 lbs), possess attention to detail, and exhibit hand-eye coordination
- The candidates should be willing to work overtime when required and demonstrate sound discrimination
Candidate Status:
- Canadian citizens and permanent or temporary foreign workers of Canada are eligible for this position
- International Candidates who don’t have a valid Canadian work permit also can apply
Responsibilities:
- The candidates should be able to load, unload, and transport construction materials safely and efficiently
- The candidates should be able to operate mobile and tower cranes to lift, move, position, or place equipment and materials accurately and clean and lubricate cranes regularly
- The candidates should be able to erect and dismantle concrete forms, scaffolding, ramps, catwalks, shoring, and barricades as needed and instruct apprentices effectively
- The candidates should be able to mix, pour, and spread materials such as concrete and asphalt skillfully and assist medical examiners in charge as required
- The candidates should be able to assist in drilling and blasting rock on construction sites safely and assist in framing houses, erecting walls, and building roofs proficiently
- The candidates should be able to level earth to fine grade specifications accurately and assist in demolishing buildings efficiently
- The candidates should be able to clean and pile salvaged materials properly and perform pre-operational inspection, calculate crane capacities and weight to prepare for rigging and hoisting meticulously
- The candidates should be able to perform routine maintenance work on equipment as needed and clean up chemical spills and other contaminants appropriately
- The candidates should be able to remove rubble and other debris at construction sites efficiently, tend or feed machines or equipment used in construction as required, and direct traffic at or near construction sites safely and effectively
