Requirements:

Languages: Candidates must have knowledge of the English Language
Education: Candidates should have a secondary (high) school graduation certificate or equivalent experience in the relevant field
Experience: Candidates should have experience of 7 months to less than 1 year
Cuisine Specialties: International, Filipino cuisine, Gluten-free
Credentials: Workplace Hazardous Materials Information System (WHMIS) Certificate, Safe Food Handling certificate, Food Safety Certificate
Security and safety: Criminal record check, Child Abuse Registry check

Physical Requirements:

  • The candidates should have a strong attention to detail and be capable of handling heavy loads in a fast-paced environment, and be open to overtime when required
  • The candidates should be physically capable of handling demanding and repetitive tasks efficiently, and be comfortable standing for extended periods while working under pressure

Other Requirements:

  • The candidates should be client-focused and dependable, with excellent oral communication skills and flexibility in their approach to work
  • The candidates should demonstrate initiative in their tasks and exercise good judgment in decision-making, being organized in their work practices and reliable in meeting job responsibilities
  • The candidates should be effective team players

Candidate Status:

  • Canadian citizens and permanent or temporary foreign workers of Canada are eligible for this position
  • International Candidates who don’t have a valid Canadian work permit also can apply

Responsibilities:

  • The candidates should be able to prepare and cook complete meals or individual dishes and foods
  • The candidates should be able to prepare dishes for customers with food allergies or intolerances
  • The candidates should be able to prepare and cook special meals for patients as instructed by a dietitian or chef
  • The candidates should be able to plan menus, determine the size of food portions, estimate food requirements and costs, and monitor and order supplies
  • The candidates should be able to inspect kitchens and food service areas, train staff in the preparation, cooking, and handling of food, order supplies and equipment, supervise kitchen staff and helpers, maintain inventory and records of food, supplies, and equipment
