Requirements:

Languages: Candidates must have knowledge of the English Language
Education: Candidates need standard educational qualifications such as a Secondary (high) school graduation certificate or equivalent experience
Experience: Candidates should have experience of 7 months to less than 1 year

Physical Requirements:

  • The candidates should demonstrate attention to detail and be adaptable to a fast-paced environment
  • The candidates should have experience in handling heavy loads and be willing to work overtime as required
  • The candidates should be physically fit to meet demanding job requirements and capable of handling repetitive tasks
  • The candidates should be able to stand for extended periods and work effectively under pressure

Candidate Status:

  • Canadian citizens and permanent or temporary foreign workers of Canada are eligible for this position
  • International Candidates who don’t have a valid Canadian work permit also can apply

Responsibilities:

  • The candidates should be able to prepare and cook complete meals or individual dishes and foods, prepare and cook special meals for patients as instructed by a dietitian or chef, and plan menus, determine the size of food portions, estimate food requirements and costs, and monitor and order supplies
  • The candidates should be able to inspect kitchens and food service areas, train staff in the preparation, cooking, and handling of food, and order supplies and equipment
  • The candidates should be able to supervise kitchen staff and helpers, maintain inventory and records of food, supplies, and equipment, and clean kitchen and work areas
  • The candidates should be able to recruit and hire staff, organize buffets and banquets, and manage kitchen operations
