The Toronto Transit Commission (TTC), Department of Human Resources – Employee Development is dedicated to fostering the professional growth and development of TTC employees. Requirements:

Languages: Candidates must have knowledge of the English Language
Education: Candidates should have completion of a post-secondary college diploma or university degree in a related discipline or combination of education, training and experience deemed to be equivalent
Experience: Candidates should have successful -completion of the apprenticeship training program apprenticeship training program

Other Requirements:

  • The candidates should have a sound knowledge of standard office practices and procedures, including procedures relating to record keeping, employee documentation, and vendor contractual obligations
  • The candidates should possess excellent keyboarding skills, including a good knowledge of grammar, punctuation, and spelling
  • The candidates should have a good working knowledge of MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and databases
  • The candidates must be detail-oriented and possess demonstrated organizational and coordination skills, as well as good interpersonal, oral, and written communication and customer service skills
  • The candidates should have familiarity with applicable procedures relating to the Municipal Freedom of Information and Protection of Privacy Act, as well as WSIB regulations specific to First Aid training
  • The candidates should have familiarity with Learning Management Systems would be an asset
  • The candidates must have or rapidly acquire a comprehensive knowledge of the Ontario Human Rights Code and Related Orders, including disability accommodation and accessibility requirements pertaining to passengers and employees

Responsibilities:

  • The candidates should be able to coordinate and administer the TTC Management Essentials, Personal and Professional Skills Certificate, First Aid training, Computer training, Project Management training, and all other courses offered by the Employee Development Section
  • The candidates should be able to maintain and update employee, course, and class training information (in-house, external, and continuing education course information) on the Learning Management System (LMS)
  • The candidates should be able to liaise with external training suppliers/vendors and reconcile billing information, including the coordination of external vendors who provide training to the TTC
  • The candidates should be able to assist with the organization and scheduling of graduation ceremonies, and the coordination of Career Fairs and other events
  • The candidates should be able to demonstrate behaviors that support diversity, inclusion, and a respectful work and service environment that is free from discrimination and harassment. They should help to remove barriers and accommodate employees and customers (within their area of responsibility) in accordance with TTC’s commitments and obligations under the Ontario Human Rights Code (OHRC) and Related Orders, the Accessibility for Ontarians with Disabilities Act (AODA), and TTC’s policies
  • The candidates should be able to participate in the TTC Customer Service Ambassador Program
  • The candidates should be able to maintain documentation and historical records
  • The candidates should be able to communicate in a variety of mediums
  • The candidates should be able to manage conflict
  • The candidates should be able to plan and organize activities/projects to meet section and organizational goals
  • The candidates should be able to use office technology, software, and applications
  • The candidates should be able to understand and apply administrative policies, processes, and procedures
