Salary: $17.40 hourly for 40 hours per week
Employment Type: Permanent employment Full time
Location: Surrey, BC
Shifts: Day, To be determined
Work setting: Room and board provided
Type of crops: Bell peppers, blueberries, cucumbers, ginger, raspberries, tomatoes, berries, and vegetables

Requirements:

Languages: Candidates must have knowledge of the English Language
Asset languages: Hindi and Panjabi
Education: Candidates don’t need standard educational qualification such as degree, certificate or diploma
Experience: Candidates should have experience of 1 to less than 7 months
Equipment and machinery experience: Farm truck, forklift, tractor, planting equipment, and hand tools

Physical Requirements:

The candidates should have experience in fruit and vegetable combination farming and be able to perform repetitive tasks
The candidates should possess hand-eye coordination and be capable of standing for extended periods
The candidates should be comfortable with bending, crouching, and kneeling, and be able to manage a combination of sitting, standing, and walking
The candidates should be skilled in weight handling and be able to handle weights of up to 23 kg (50 lbs)

Canadian citizens and permanent or temporary foreign workers of Canada are eligible for this position

Responsibilities:

The candidates should be able to clean crops, clear and collect brush and debris from fields, pens, and other work areas, and cut agricultural crops
The candidates should be able to cut agricultural seed according to farm standards, perform greenhouse cleaning, and hand harvest vegetables
The candidates should be able to pack fruits and vegetables, plant, cultivate, and irrigate crops, and sort fruits and vegetables
The candidates should be able to harvest crops
