Requirements:

Languages: Candidates must have knowledge of the English and French Language
Education: Candidates don’t need standard educational qualifications
Experience: Candidates don’t need experience although having experience is an asset

Physical Requirements:

  • The candidates should be available for shift work and irregular work hours, including early mornings, evenings, weekends, and statutory holidays
  • The candidates should be able to obtain and maintain any applicable transportation security clearances and additional authorizations
  • The candidates should be able to lift heavy objects unaided and repetitively weighing up to 70 pounds (32 kilograms)
  • The candidates should have the capacity to work within strict timelines in order to maintain on-time departures while ensuring safety at all times
  • The candidates should be eligible to work in the country of interest at the time any offer of employment is made, and seeking any required work permits/visas or other authorizations

Other Requirements:

  • The candidates should have a willingness to work under various climatic conditions
  • The candidates should possess a valid driver’s license
  • The candidates should be fluent in both French and English
  • The candidates should be aware that a linguistic test will be scheduled before the interview, priority will be given to candidates who are bilingual in English and French
  • The candidates should understand that Air Canada operates in a global industry and serves customers from all over the world, and strives to offer all of its customers a positive and memorable travel experience

Responsibilities:

  • The candidates should be able to investigate delayed baggage using various available systems
  • The candidates should be able to make arrangements for the expediting and delivery of the bags
  • The candidates should be able to assist customers with complaints regarding lost, mishandled, delayed, or damaged baggage
  • The candidates should be able to perform lost and found functions
  • The candidates should be able to perform Chargeback functions
  • The candidates should be able to trace and process delayed baggage files
  • The candidates should be able to trace and process mishandled/unclaimed bags before the station sends them to Central Baggage Tracing (LZ)
  • The candidates should be able to trace and process delayed files, especially during the first 5 days after creation
  • The candidates should be able to prepare records and documents
  • The candidates should be able to walk long distances to search for bags in the bag rooms and the arrival halls
