Work setting: Child care centre

Requirements:

Languages: Candidates must have knowledge of the English Language
Education: Candidates need standard educational qualifications such as other trades certificate or diploma
Experience: Candidates should have experience of 1 to less than 2 years 
Credentials: Member of the College of Early Childhood Educators (CECE), First Aid Certificate, and CPR Certificate
Security and safety: Medical exam, immunization records, and vulnerable sector check

Physical Requirements:

  • The candidates should have attention to detail

Other Requirements:

  • The candidates should demonstrate punctuality, dependability, possess efficient interpersonal skills, and have excellent oral and written communication skills
  • The candidates should exhibit flexibility, demonstrate interpersonal awareness, show reliability, and be team players

Candidate Status:

  • Candidate must be a Canadian Citizen or temporary or permanent resident of Canada
  • Candidate must have legal authorization (Work Permit) to work in Canada

Responsibilities:

  • The candidates should be able to develop and implement child-care programs that support and promote the physical, cognitive, emotional, and social development of children, supervise staff, trainees, or volunteers, and have knowledge of licensing regulations
  • The candidates should attend staff meetings to discuss progress and problems of children, establish and maintain collaborative relationships with co-workers and community service providers working with children, and plan and maintain an environment that protects the health, security, and well-being of children
