Requirements:

Languages: Candidates must have knowledge of the English Language
Education: Candidates need standard educational qualifications such as college, CEGEP or other non-university certificate or diploma from a program of 3 months to less than 1 year
Experience: Candidates should have experience of 2 years to less than 3 years
Area of specialization: Pre-school education
Credentials: Food allergy and anaphylaxis training and CPR Certificate
Security and safety: Vulnerable sector check

Physical Requirements:

• The candidates should be able to manage a combination of sitting, standing, and walking and bend, crouch, and kneel

Other Requirements:

• The candidates should be punctual, dependable, and have efficient interpersonal skills
• The candidates should be reliable and able to work as a team player
• The candidates should be creative and honest

Candidate Status:

• Candidate must be a Canadian Citizen or temporary or permanent resident of Canada

Responsibilities:

• The candidates should be able to assist co-workers in housekeeping and cooking duties and bathe, diaper, and feed infants and toddlers and develop and implement child-care programs that support and promote the physical, cognitive, emotional, and social development of children
• The candidates should be able to synthesize the overall situation of the children and communicate the information to the parents and lead activities by telling or reading stories, teaching songs, and taking children to local points of interest
• The candidates should be able to encourage children to express creativity through the media of art, dramatic play, music, and physical activity and engage children in activities by telling stories, teaching songs, and preparing crafts
• The candidates should be able to guide and assist children in the development of proper eating, dressing, and toilet habits and prepare snacks and arrange rooms or furniture for lunch and rest periods
• The candidates should be able to observe children for signs of potential learning or behavioural problems and prepare reports for parents, guardians, or supervisors and discuss progress and problems of children at staff meetings
• The candidates should be able to have knowledge of licensing regulations and establish guidelines for behaviour
• The candidates should be able to attend staff meetings to discuss progress and problems of children and establish and maintain collaborative relationships with co-workers and community service providers working with children
• The candidates should be able to plan and maintain an environment that protects the health, security, and well-being of children
