Salary: $24.00 to $27.00 hourly (To be negotiated) 40 to 60 hours per week
Employment Type: Permanent employment Full time
Location: Whitehorse, YT
Shifts: Day, Weekend, Overtime, Flexible Hours, Early Morning, Morning
Transportation information: Valid driver’s licence
Requirements:
Languages: Candidates must have knowledge of the English Language
Education: Candidates need standard educational qualifications such as a Secondary (high) school graduation certificate or equivalent experience
Experience: Candidates don’t need experience although having experience is an asset
Credentials: Air Brakes Endorsement, Class 3/3F/DF Licence (trailer truck, vehicles with more than 3 axles), and Class 5/5F/G Licence (cars, small trucks, Other 2-axle vehicles)
Type of heavy equipment operated: Operate forklift
Security and safety: Driving record check (abstract), Bondable
Physical Requirements:
- The candidates should be adaptable to a fast-paced work environment
- The candidates should be physically capable of handling demanding tasks
- The candidates should be able to lift up to 13.5 kg (30 lbs)
Other Requirements:
- The candidates should be equipped with efficient interpersonal skills and demonstrate flexibility in adapting to various situations
- The candidates should be organized in managing tasks and responsibilities, exhibit reliability in meeting job expectations consistently, and be a team player, fostering collaboration and positive team dynamics
Candidate Status:
- Candidate must be a Canadian Citizen or temporary or permanent resident of Canada
- Candidate must have legal authorized (Work Permit) to work in Canada
- If Candidates are unable to fulfill above mentioned requirements, don’t apply for the position
Responsibilities:
- The candidates should be able to operate and drive automobiles, vans, and light trucks to pick up and deliver various items and products, exhibit professionalism in customer service, and receive and relay information to central dispatch
- The candidates should be able to transport and handle dangerous goods, load and unload goods, record trip information, perform pre-trip, en route, and post-trip inspections, and oversee all aspects of the vehicle
- The candidates should be able to keep a record of items received and delivered, deliver and pick up messages, parcels, and other items by hand, follow emergency and safety procedures, operate an electric pallet jack, provide customer service, sort packages, and follow directions and read maps
