Requirements:

Languages: Candidates must have knowledge of the English Language
Education: Candidates should have completion of a minimum 2-year college diploma in fundraising, education, communications and public relations
Experience: Candidates should have a minimum of 5 years of related experience as a senior practitioner, technical advisor, consultant, or supervisor

Physical Requirements:

  • The candidates should have excellent organization, planning, and time management skills, with strong attention to detail and the ability to establish systems for meeting deadlines, tracking, follow-up, monitoring, and reporting progress
  • The candidates should possess excellent oral and written communication skills, with a demonstrated ability to write persuasively and present effectively to diverse groups
  • The candidates should have the ability to negotiate and close major gifts, including creating gift agreements and supporting documentation
  • The candidates should demonstrate proficiency in analytics and the ability to conduct their own research, including prospect identification, qualification, cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship

Other Requirements:

  • The candidates should have a demonstrated record of closing major gifts and managing a portfolio of 50+ prospects
  • The candidates should have experience using the Raiser’s Edge database, ideally hold a CFRE designation – Certified Fund Raising Executive Certificate, demonstrate excellent public relations and networking skills
  • The candidates should possess extremely effective interpersonal skills, a professional presence, and the ability to exercise independent judgment, initiative, and flexibility

Responsibilities:

  • The candidates should be able to lead or support select major gift opportunities, working collaboratively with the Major Giving team to align efforts and maximize donor impact, assist in driving Sheridan’s fundraising cycle, including research, prospect identification, cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship
  • The candidates should be able to manage a comprehensive annual giving portfolio of gifts up to $25,000, in collaboration with the central Advancement office, focusing on student support initiatives
  • The candidates should be able to collaborate with Deans, Directors, and other internal stakeholders to identify fundraising priorities that align with the student experience and alumni engagement, develop and implement strategies to build strong connections between alumni and students, promoting a culture of philanthropy and community support
  • The candidates should be able to plan and execute major initiatives such as Giving Tuesday and National Philanthropy Day to enhance community engagement and fundraising success
  • The candidates should be able to design and execute initiatives that connect current students with alumni activities and philanthropic efforts, fostering meaningful relationships beyond graduation, identify, recruit, train, and oversee student and alumni volunteers to support engagement and fundraising efforts
  • The candidates should be able to develop opportunities for students to participate in alumni events and activities while on campus, ensuring they feel a sense of belonging and value in staying connected to Sheridan post-graduation, collaborate with staff to provide subject matter expertise and support with material editing related to portfolio, recognition, and stewardship
  • The candidates should be able to accurately capture and record all relevant relationship and moves management information in Raiser’s Edge, monitor and analyze giving trends to inform and refine fundraising strategies
  • The candidates should be able to champion the financial and strategic goals of the Advancement and External Relations team and promote best practices across all fundraising portfolios
