Requirements:

Languages: Candidates must have knowledge of the English Language
Education: Candidates should have completion of extended diploma from an accredited ultrasound program
Experience: Candidates should have considerable experience in the relevant field

Other Requirements:

  • The candidates should have completed certification in Diagnostic Sonography from an accredited program
  • The candidates should be active or eligible for registration with Sonography Canada and/or Alberta College of Medical Diagnostic & Therapeutic Technologists (ACMDTT) and/or American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers (ARDMS)
  • The candidates should hold current Basic Cardiac Life Support Healthcare Provider (BCLS-HCP) certification
  • The candidates should have computer skills including proficiency in Microsoft Office, Word, PowerPoint, and Excel
  • The candidates should be familiar with lntellispace and Philips Epiq ECHO platform, as well as Cardiology PACS
  • The candidates should hold ARDMS Pediatric Echo certification

Responsibilities:

  • The candidates should be able to perform a variety of cardiac ultrasound services for the diagnosis and tracking of disease and pathology
  • The candidates should be able to prepare the patient for examination, review patient history, explain procedures, obtain ultrasound images of diagnostic quality, and take initial action to resolve abnormal findings
  • The candidates should be able to assist with diagnosis, clinical intervention, and patient management while ensuring a high level of patient care and safety
  • The candidates should be able to assist Cardiologists and other medical staff with special procedures where required
  • The candidates should be able to perform a variety of standardized and complex ultrasound services for the diagnosis and tracking of disease and pathology
  • The candidates should be able to assist Radiologists, Cardiologists, Perinatologists, and other medical staff with special procedures
