Requirements:
Languages: Candidates must have knowledge of the English Language
Education:Â Candidates should have completion of Bachelor of Science with a major in Foods and Nutrition
Experience: Candidates should have minimum three years’ experience as a Clinical Dietitian
Other Requirements:
- The candidates should have completed an internship program or practicum training program accredited by the Dietitians of Canada
- The candidates should be active or eligible for registration with the College of Dietitians of Alberta (CDA)
- The candidates should possess advanced skills in Nutrition Counselling for Behavior Change and experience with nutrition support using enteral nutrition
- The candidates should have experience providing nutrition care for clients of all ages living with eating disorders or other mental health conditions
- The candidates should have demonstrated experience in providing psychoeducation in a group setting and skills in program planning and development
- The candidates should have experience working with a multidisciplinary healthcare team and providing collaborative care, including strong interpersonal relationship skills
Responsibilities:
- The candidates should be able to conduct nutrition assessment, diagnosis, intervention, monitoring, and evaluation as per AHS Nutrition Services Standards of Practice
- The candidates should be able to co-facilitate nutrition education groups and other group programming
- The candidates should be able to provide meal support and nutrition counseling for caregivers and clients and develop, implement, and evaluate nutrition care plans
- The candidates should be able to educate nutrition interns, nursing, and medical staff to ensure consistent, accurate, evidence-based nutrition information delivery
- The candidates should be able to participate in zone and/or provincial Nutrition Services committees and research projects to meet Provincial Nutrition Services Strategy & Standards targets
- The candidates should be able to provide nutrition expertise to patients (clients, residents) in various AHS facilities and community settings
- The candidates should be able to plan and provide public health nutrition services and education programs for clients or groups in facilities or community settings to promote healthy living and disease prevention
- The candidates should be able to provide nutrition education to students and other healthcare professionals to support the delivery of evidence-based nutrition information
