Salary: $17.00 to $22.00 hourly (To be negotiated) for 20 to 35 hours per week
Employment Type: Permanent employment Part time leading to full time
Location: Surrey, BC
Type of materials: canvas, cotton or synthetic, knits, satin, and velvet
Shifts: Day, On Call, Flexible Hours, Morning, 08:30 to 17:00
Requirements:
Languages: Candidates must have knowledge of the English Language
Education: Candidates don’t need standard educational qualification such as degree, certificate or diploma
Experience: Candidates should have experience of 2 to less than 3 years
Equipment and machinery experience: Hemmer or blindstitcher, industrial sewing machine, serger or overlock, and single needle machine
Sewing experience: Commercial and piecework
Physical Requirements:
- The candidates should be able to work effectively in noisy environments
- The candidates should possess the ability to distinguish between colors accurately and demonstrate strong attention to detail
- The candidates should be capable of bending, crouching, and kneeling as required for the job, and be comfortable with a combination of sitting, standing, and walking throughout their workday
- The candidates should be adept at working in a fast-paced environment and physically fit to handle demanding tasks
- The candidates should be proficient in performing repetitive tasks efficiently and comfortable sitting for extended periods
- The candidates should be able to handle weights of up to 23 kg (50 lbs) safely and effectively
Other Requirements:
- The candidates should demonstrate accuracy in their work and exercise good judgment in decision-making
- The candidates should exhibit organization in their tasks and responsibilities and be reliable in meeting commitments and deadlines
Candidate Status:
- Candidate must be a Canadian Citizen or temporary or permanent resident of Canada
- Candidate must have legal authorization (Work Permit) to work in Canada
- If Candidates are unable to fulfill above mentioned requirements, don’t apply for the position
Responsibilities:
- The candidates should be able to perform minor repairs and adjustments to equipment and operate machines to join sections of garments or other articles into finished products on a piece-work or production basis
- The candidates should be able to use sewing guides and tension devices
