Requirements:

Languages: Candidates must have knowledge of the English Language
Education: Candidates need standard educational qualifications such as a Secondary (high) school graduation certificate
Experience: Candidates should have experience of 7 months to less than 1 year
Security and safety: Criminal record check

  • The candidates should be dependable and flexible and reliable and a team player

Candidate Status:

  • Candidate must be a Canadian Citizen or temporary or permanent resident of Canada
  • Candidate must have legal authorization (Work Permit) to work in Canada

Responsibilities:

  • The candidates should be able to develop and implement child-care programs that support and promote the physical, cognitive, emotional, and social development of children and supervise staff, trainees, or volunteers and assist early childhood educators in carrying out programs that promote children’s development
  • The candidates should be able to lead activities by telling or reading stories, teaching songs, and taking children to local points of interest and assist early childhood educators or supervisors in keeping records and encourage children to express creativity through art, dramatic play, music, and physical activity
  • The candidates should be able to engage children in activities by telling stories, teaching songs, and preparing crafts and guide and assist children in the development of proper eating, dressing, and toilet habits and prepare snacks and arrange rooms or furniture for lunch and rest periods
  • The candidates should be able to observe children for signs of potential learning or behavioral problems and prepare reports for parents, guardians, or supervisors and discuss progress and problems of children at staff meetings and establish guidelines for behavior
  • The candidates should be able to attend staff meetings to discuss progress and problems of children and establish and maintain collaborative relationships with co-workers and community service providers working with children and plan and maintain an environment that protects the health, security, and well-being of children
  • The candidates should be able to plan and organize activities for school-age children in child-care programs before and after regular school hours and supervise and co-ordinate activities of other early childhood educators and early childhood educator assistants
