Salary: $17.00 to $20.00 hourly (To be negotiated) for 35 to 40 hours per week

Shifts: Day, Evening, Shift, On Call, Flexible Hours, Morning
Transportation information: Valid driver’s licence and public transportation is available
Supervision: 5-10 people
Requirements:
Languages:Â Candidates must have knowledge of the English Language
Education: Candidates need standard educational qualifications such as a College, CEGEP or other non-university certificate or diploma from a program of 1 year to 2 years or equivalent experience
Experience: Candidates should have experience of 7 months to less than 1 year
Credentials: Child development assistant (ECE level 1), child development supervisor (ECE level 3), child development worker (ECE level 2), emergency child care first aid and CPR, Early Childhood Education (ECE) Certificate, First Aid Certificate, and CPR Certificate
Security and safety: Criminal record check and vulnerable sector check
Physical Requirements:
- The candidates should be able to perform a combination of sitting, standing, and walking, and also perform bending, crouching, and kneeling
Other Requirements:
- The candidates should demonstrate punctuality, be dependable and reliable, and have efficient interpersonal skills and excellent oral communication skills
- The candidates should be flexible, team players, and uphold strong values and ethics
- The candidates should be creative, have the ability to multitask, and be adaptable
Candidate Status:
- Candidate must be a Canadian Citizen or temporary or permanent resident of Canada
- Candidate must have legal authorization (Work Permit) to work in Canada

Responsibilities:
- The candidates should be able to bathe, diaper, and feed infants and toddlers, develop and implement child-care programs that support and promote the physical, cognitive, emotional, and social development of children, and engage in storytelling
- The candidates should be able to assist early childhood educators in carrying out programs that promote children’s development, lead activities by telling or reading stories, teaching songs, and taking children to local points of interest, and assist early childhood educators or supervisors in keeping records
- The candidates should be able to encourage children to express creativity through art, dramatic play, music, and physical activity, engage children in activities by telling stories, teaching songs, and preparing crafts, and guide and assist children in developing proper eating, dressing, and toilet habits
- The candidates should be able to prepare snacks, arrange rooms or furniture for lunch and rest periods, observe children for signs of potential learning or behavioral problems, prepare and submit written reports on children, and discuss the progress and problems of children at staff meetings
- The candidates should have knowledge of licensing regulations, establish guidelines for behavior, attend staff meetings to discuss the progress and problems of children, and establish and maintain collaborative relationships with co-workers and community service providers
- The candidates should be able to plan and maintain an environment that protects the health, security, and well-being of children, plan and organize activities for school-age children before and after regular school hours, and supervise and co-ordinate the activities of other early childhood educators and early childhood educator assistants
