Salary: $20.00 to $23.86 hourly (To be negotiated) for 40 hours per week

Supervision: 5-10 people
Target audience: Children, and Infant (3 months – 11 months)
Requirements:
Languages:Â Candidates must have knowledge of the English Language
Education: Candidates need standard educational qualifications such as a College/CEGEP or equivalent experience
Experience: Candidates don’t need experience although having experience is an asset
Credentials: Member of the College of Early Childhood Educators (CECE), Early Childhood Education (ECE) Certificate, First Aid Certificate, and CPR Certificate
Security and safety: Medical exam, Immunization records, Tuberculosis test, and Vulnerable sector check
Physical Requirements:
- The candidates should be comfortable working outdoors and in noisy environments
- The candidates should be non-smokers and able to work in air-conditioned environments
- The candidates should be physically fit to meet the demands of a physically demanding job, capable of efficiently performing repetitive tasks
- They should possess attention to detail in their work and be comfortable with a combination of sitting, standing, and walking
- The candidates should have manual dexterity for precise tasks and be able to perform tasks requiring bending, crouching, and kneeling

Candidate Status:
- Candidate must be a Canadian Citizen or temporary or permanent resident of Canada
- Candidate must have legal authorization (Work Permit) to work in Canada

Responsibilities:
- The candidates should be able to bathe, diaper, and feed infants and toddlers and develop and implement child-care programs that support and promote the physical, cognitive, emotional, and social development of children
- The candidates should be able to engage in storytelling and supervise staff, trainees, or volunteers
- The candidates should be able to assist early childhood educators in carrying out programs that promote the physical, cognitive, emotional, and social development of children and lead activities by telling or reading stories, teaching songs, and taking children to local points of interest
- The candidates should be able to assist early childhood educators or supervisors in keeping records and encourage children to express creativity through the media of art, dramatic play, music, and physical activity
- The candidates should be able to engage children in activities by telling stories, teaching songs, and preparing crafts and guide and assist children in the development of proper eating, dressing, and toilet habits
- The candidates should be able to maintain daycare equipment and assist in housekeeping and cooking duties and prepare snacks and arrange rooms or furniture for lunch and rest periods
- The candidates should be able to observe children for signs of potential learning or behavioral problems and prepare reports for parents, guardians, or supervisors and submit written observations on children to early childhood educators or supervisors
- The candidates should be able to discuss progress and problems of children at staff meetings and have knowledge of licensing regulations
- The candidates should be able to assess the abilities, interests, and needs of children and discuss progress or problems with parents and other staff members and attend staff meetings to discuss progress and problems of children
- The candidates should be able to establish and maintain collaborative relationships with co-workers and community service providers working with children and plan and maintain an environment that protects the health, security, and well-being of children
