Requirements:

Languages: Candidates must have knowledge of the English Language
Education: Candidate must have college, CEGEP or other non-university certificate or diploma from a program of 3 months to less than 1 year
Experience: Candidates don’t need experience, however experience is an asset
Credentials: Certificates, courses, licenses, memberships, Emergency child care first aid, CPR, and Early Childhood Education (ECE) Certificate

Candidate Status:

  • Canadian citizens and permanent or temporary foreign workers of Canada are eligible for this position
  • International Candidates who don’t have a valid Canadian work permit also can apply

Responsibilities:

  • The candidates should be able to develop and implement child-care programs effectively to support and promote children’s physical, cognitive, emotional, and social development
  • They should possess excellent storytelling skills to engage children during activities
  • The candidates should be able to have experience in supervising staff, trainees, or volunteers involved in child-care programs
  • The candidates should be able to be capable of leading activities such as storytelling, teaching songs, and organizing trips to local points of interest for children
  • The candidates should be able to encourage children to express creativity through various mediums like art, dramatic play, music, and physical activity
  • The candidates should be able to be proficient in guiding and assisting children in developing proper eating, dressing, and toilet habits
  • The candidates should be able to possess observational skills to identify potential learning or behavioral problems in children and prepare reports for parents, guardians, or supervisors
  • The candidates should be able to adept at discussing the progress and issues of children during staff meetings
  • The candidates should be able to assess the abilities, interests, and needs of children and communicate progress or problems with parents and other staff members
  • The candidates should establish and maintain collaborative relationships with co-workers and community service providers working with children
  • The candidates should be able to be responsible for planning and maintaining an environment that ensures the health, security, and well-being of children
  • The candidates should be able to be capable of organizing activities for school-age children in child-care programs before and after regular school hours
