Work setting: Child care centre, urban area, relocation costs not covered by employer, and day care centre or nursery school
Requirements:
Languages:Â Candidates must have knowledge of the English Language
Education: Candidates need standard educational qualifications such as College, CEGEP or other non-university certificate or diploma from a program of 1 year to 2 years
Experience: Candidates don’t need experience although having experience is an asset
Experience with special needs children: Children with behavioral issues, children with allergies
Credentials: Child development assistant (ECE level 1), child development worker (ECE level 2), emergency child care first aid and CPR, First Aid Certificate, and CPR Certificate
Security and safety: Criminal record check, and vulnerable sector check
Physical Requirements:
- The candidates should be non-smoking
- The candidates should be willing to perform repetitive tasks, including physically demanding activities, and be comfortable with a combination of sitting, standing, and walking throughout their workday
- The candidates should be capable of bending, crouching, and kneeling as required by the job responsibilities

Candidate Status:
- Candidate must be a Canadian Citizen or temporary or permanent resident of Canada

Responsibilities:
- The candidates should be able to bathe, diaper, and feed infants and toddlers, as well as lead activities by telling or reading stories, teaching songs, and taking children to local points of interest
- The candidates should be able to encourage children to express creativity through the media of art, dramatic play, music, and physical activity, and engage them in activities by telling stories, teaching songs, and preparing crafts
- The candidates should guide and assist children in the development of proper eating, dressing, and toilet habits, and prepare snacks and arrange rooms or furniture for lunch and rest periods
- The candidates should observe children for signs of potential learning or behavioral problems and prepare reports for parents, guardians, or supervisors, and submit written observations on children to early childhood educators or supervisors
- The candidates should discuss progress and problems of children at staff meetings, and be knowledgeable about licensing regulations, establishing and maintaining collaborative relationships with co-workers and community service providers working with children, and planning and maintaining an environment that protects the health, security, and well-being of children
