Requirements:

Languages: Candidates must have knowledge of the English Language
Education: Candidates need standard educational qualifications such as College, CEGEP or other non-university certificate or diploma from a program of 1 year to 2 years
Experience: Candidates should have experience of 1 to less than 2 years
Credentials: Emergency child care first aid and CPR, Early Childhood Education (ECE) Certificate, First Aid Certificate, and CPR Certificate
Security and safety: Criminal record check and Vulnerable sector check

  • The candidates should be a team player, contributing effectively to collaborative efforts and fostering a positive working environment

Responsibilities:

  • The candidates should be able to develop and implement child-care programs that support and promote the physical, cognitive, emotional, and social development of children
  • The candidates should be able to lead activities such as storytelling, teaching songs, and organizing local outings for children
  • The candidates should be able to encourage children’s creativity through art, dramatic play, music, and physical activities
  • The candidates should be able to guide and assist children in developing proper eating, dressing, and toilet habits
  • The candidates should be able to observe children for signs of potential learning or behavioral problems and prepare reports for parents, guardians, or supervisors
  • The candidates should be able to establish behavior guidelines for children
  • The candidates should be able to establish and maintain collaborative relationships with co-workers and community service providers working with children
  • The candidates should be able to plan and maintain an environment that ensures the health, security, and well-being of children
