Requirements:
Languages:Â Candidates must have knowledge of the English Language
Education: Candidates need standard educational qualifications such College/CEGEP or equivalent experience
Experience: Candidates should have experience of 1 to less than 2 years
Credentials: Early Childhood Education (ECE) Certificate and First Aid Certificate
Security and safety: Criminal record check and immunization records
Physical Requirements:
- The candidates should be able to perform repetitive tasks, handle physically demanding work, and demonstrate attention to detail
- The candidates should be able to manage a combination of sitting, standing, and walking, perform bending, crouching, and kneeling, and exhibit manual dexterity
Other Requirements:
- The candidates should be dependable, have excellent oral communication skills, and be flexible
- The candidates should be reliable, be team players, and uphold values and ethics
Candidate Status:
- Candidate must be a Canadian Citizen or temporary or permanent resident of Canada
- Candidate must have legal authorization (Work Permit) to work in Canada
- If Candidates are unable to fulfill above mentioned requirements, don’t apply for the position
Responsibilities:
- The candidates should be able to assess the children’s development in order to prepare a learning plan tailored to their needs, bathe, diaper, and feed infants and toddlers, and develop and implement child-care programs that support and promote the physical, cognitive, emotional, and social development of children
- The candidates should be able to lead activities by telling or reading stories, teaching songs, and taking children to local points of interest, engage children in activities by telling stories, teaching songs, and preparing crafts, and prepare snacks and arrange rooms or furniture for lunch and rest periods
- The candidates should be able to observe children for signs of potential learning or behavioral problems and prepare reports for parents, guardians, or supervisors, submit written observations on children to early childhood educators or supervisors, and discuss progress and problems of children at staff meetings
- The candidates should be able to demonstrate knowledge of licensing regulations, establish guidelines for behavior, and attend staff meetings to discuss progress and problems of children
- The candidates should be able to establish and maintain collaborative relationships with co-workers and community service providers working with children, plan and maintain an environment that protects the health, security, and well-being of children, and plan and organize activities for school-age children in child-care programs before and after regular school hours
- The candidates should be able to supervise and coordinate activities of other early childhood educators and early childhood educator assistants
