Three Hills Child Care Centre & School Age Program is a nurturing and educational facility dedicated to providing quality childcare and after-school programs for children. Catering to infants, toddlers, and school-aged kids, the center offers a safe and engaging environment where children can learn and grow. The program emphasizes early childhood education, incorporating play-based learning and structured activities that promote social, emotional, and cognitive development. Job Description:

Salary: $20.05 hourly for 30 to 40 hours per week

Location: Three Hills, AB
Shifts: Day, 08:30 to 17:30

Requirements:

Languages: Candidates must have knowledge of the English Language
Education: Candidates need standard educational qualifications such as other trades certificate or diploma or equivalent experience
Experience: Candidates should have experience of 1 to less than 2 years 
Credentials: Child development worker (ECE level 2), Emergency child care first aid and CPR, Early Childhood Education (ECE) Certificate, First Aid Certificate, and CPR Certificate
Security and safety: Criminal record check, Child welfare check, and Vulnerable sector check

Physical Requirements:

  • The candidates should be able to perform repetitive tasks and handle physically demanding work while being attentive to detail
  • The candidates should be able to alternate between sitting, standing, and walking, as well as bend, crouch, and kneel as needed
  • The candidates should have manual dexterity

Other Requirements:

  • The candidates should be punctual, dependable, and reliable while possessing efficient interpersonal skills and interpersonal awareness
  • The candidates should have excellent oral and written communication skills, be flexible, and exercise good judgment
  • The candidates should be team players who value ethics, are honest, and demonstrate creativity
  • The candidates should have the ability to multitask

Responsibilities:

  • The candidates should be able to assess the children’s development to prepare a learning plan tailored to their needs and maintain daycare equipment
  • The candidates should be able to bathe, diaper, and feed infants and toddlers while developing and implementing child-care programs that support their physical, cognitive, emotional, and social development
  • The candidates should be able to perform storytelling and lead activities by telling or reading stories, teaching songs, and taking children to local points of interest
  • The candidates should be able to synthesize the overall situation of the children, communicate the information to parents, and prepare reports for parents, guardians, or supervisors
  • The candidates should be able to order supplies and equipment, assist early childhood educators or supervisors in keeping records, and submit written observations on children
  • The candidates should be able to encourage children to express creativity through art, dramatic play, music, and physical activity while engaging them in activities
  • The candidates should be able to guide and assist children in developing proper eating, dressing, and toilet habits, as well as prepare snacks and arrange rooms for lunch and rest periods
  • The candidates should be able to observe children for signs of potential learning or behavioral problems and discuss the progress and problems of children at staff meetings
  • The candidates should be able to demonstrate knowledge of licensing regulations and establish guidelines for behavior
  • The candidates should be able to attend staff meetings to discuss children’s progress and establish and maintain collaborative relationships with co-workers and community service providers while planning a safe environment for children
