Requirements:
Languages:Â Candidates must have knowledge of the English Language
Education: Candidates need standard educational qualifications such as college, CEGEP or other non-university certificate or diploma from a program of 1 year to 2 years
Experience: Candidates should have experience of 7 months to less than 1 year
Credentials: Emergency child care first aid and CPR and Early Childhood Education (ECE) Certificate
Security and safety:Â Criminal record check and Vulnerable sector check
Physical Requirements:
- The candidates should be able to perform repetitive tasks, work in physically demanding conditions, and maintain attention to detail
- The candidates should be able to work in a combination of sitting, standing, and walking positions, bend, crouch, and kneel as required
Responsibilities:
- The candidates should be able to assess children’s development to prepare tailored learning plans, develop and implement child-care programs that support physical, cognitive, emotional, and social development, and establish guidelines for behaviour
- The candidates should be able to guide and assist children in eating, dressing, and toilet habits, observe children for signs of learning or behavioural problems and prepare reports, and establish and maintain collaborative relationships with co-workers and community service providers
- The candidates should be able to supervise staff, trainees, or volunteers, plan and organize activities for school-age children before and after school hours, and supervise and coordinate activities of other early childhood educators and assistants
