Requirements:

Languages: Candidates must have knowledge of the English Language
Education: Candidates need standard educational qualifications such as a Secondary (high) school graduation certificate
Experience: Candidates don’t need experience although having experience is an asset 
Credentials: Early Childhood Education (ECE) Certificate

Candidate Status:

  • Candidate must be a Canadian Citizen or temporary or permanent resident of Canada
  • Candidate must have legal authorization (Work Permit) to work in Canada
  • If Candidates are unable to fulfill above mentioned requirements, don’t apply for the position

Responsibilities:

  • The candidates should be able to develop and implement child-care programs that support and promote the physical, cognitive, emotional, and social development of children, assess the children’s development to prepare a learning plan tailored to their needs, and maintain daycare equipment
  • The candidates should be able to engage children in activities such as storytelling, lead activities by telling or reading stories, teaching songs, and taking children to local points of interest, and encourage children to express creativity through art, dramatic play, music, and physical activity
  • The candidates should be able to bathe, diaper, and feed infants and toddlers, guide and assist children in the development of proper eating, dressing, and toilet habits, and prepare snacks and arrange rooms or furniture for lunch and rest periods
  • The candidates should be able to assist early childhood educators in carrying out programs that promote the physical, cognitive, emotional, and social development of children, assist co-workers in housekeeping and cooking duties, and order supplies and equipment
  • The candidates should be able to synthesize the overall situation of the children and communicate the information to the parents, observe children for signs of potential learning or behavioral problems, and prepare reports for parents, guardians, or supervisors
  • The candidates should be able to submit written observations on children to early childhood educators or supervisors, discuss progress and problems of children at staff meetings, attend staff meetings to discuss progress and problems of children, and be knowledgeable about licensing regulations
  • The candidates should be able to plan and maintain an environment that protects the health, security, and well-being of children
