Requirements:

Languages: Candidates must have knowledge of the English and French Language
Education: Candidates should have completion of a degree in Environmental field Science, Earth or Environmental Sciences and Environmental Science or Resource, Sustainability and Engineering
Experience: Candidates should have considerable experience in the relevant field

Physical Requirements:

  • The candidates should note that the position is based in operations with a defined 14/14 rotation schedule (FIFO)
  • The candidates should be aware that flights are available from Sudbury, Toronto, Thunder Bay, or Rouyn-Noranda
  • The candidate should have a strong commitment to working in a safe, socially responsible manner
  • The candidate should be a self-starter who can anticipate needs and work independently

Other Requirements:

  • The candidate should have working and theoretical knowledge of effluent release provincial and federal requirements
  • The candidate should have experience with spill response and mitigation and proficiency in Microsoft Office programs
  • The candidate should be highly organized with exceptional attention to detail and critical thinking, able to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced, growing work environment
  • The candidate should demonstrate excellent interpersonal skills (oral or written communication and presentation), and a strong commitment to working in a safe, socially responsible manner and ability to speak French
  • The candidate should demonstrate excellent English oral and written communication skills

Responsibilities:

  • The candidates should be able to present training material to all employees on environmental policies and procedures and ensure all new workers receive proper training to contribute to the site’s environmental performance
  • The candidates should be able to interpret water quality data and conduct data entry and respond to environmental emergencies and incidents
  • The candidates should be able to safely operate a variety of equipment such as telehandlers, snow machines, quads and boats
  • The candidates should be able to perform calibration and maintenance on environmental monitoring equipment and work independently and as a team member
